Community Service Day

Community Service Day has become one of the favorite traditions of a Hamlin girl. Twice a year, the middle school ventures into a variety of agencies, volunteering with their advising group for one day in the fall and spring. In the 5th and 6th grades, the service learning focuses on the environment and ways in which we can help ensure the continued health of the Bay Area. In the 7th and 8th grades, emphasis is placed on issues of homelessness, non-profit aid, literacy, and mentoring. The combined variety of projects on this day helps students gain a hands-on perspective on issues affecting our community. It also demonstrates the positive impact they can have on the people and places around them.
