Dear Hamlin Families,

Welcome back to the 2015-2016 school year! To the new families joining our community this year, a special warm welcome!

The Hamlin Parents Association (PA) works in partnership with the school administration, faculty and staff to support two important goals. The first is to cultivate a warm, welcoming and inclusive Hamlin community. The second is to raise crucial funds that support academic excellence at all stages of our girls' Hamlin experience. Last year the PA raised over $600,000 for our girls! Thank you to everyone who volunteered time and resources to these efforts.

All current parents are members of the Hamlin Parents Association. We encourage you to become an active member -- whether you have five minutes or more to contribute, there is a volunteer role available to suit your schedule and interests. The PA supports more than 15 different programs and events at Hamlin. We will have two open PA meetings during the school year – one in the fall and one in the spring. These meetings provide an opportunity to learn more about our PA events and programs as well as find out what’s happening around Hamlin.

The Parents Association will kick off the year with the 8th Annual Hamlin Golf Classic on Friday, September 25th. We hope you can join us for a fun-filled day of golf followed by an evening of dinner, dancing and festivities for golfers and non-golfers alike. As we move into winter, we invite the entire Hamlin community to Winterfest on Saturday, December 5th. Hamlin is turned into a winter wonderland for a day full of activities, games, gingerbread decorating and more! On Saturday, January 23rd, we come together for Hamlin Harvest, in which we celebrate the tradition of giving back to our San Francisco community by preparing a delicious meal for residents of the Hamilton Family Center. Finally, we will close the year’s events with a celebration of the Hamlin community at the Hamlin Gala in the spring.

The best way to connect with the Hamlin community is to jump in and volunteer alongside your fellow Hamlin parents. We welcome your enthusiasm, skills and time! Please visit the Volunteer page in the Parents section of the Hamlin website to learn more about PA opportunities. You will find a list of our major events as well as our community committees including the Hamlin Diversity Council, Lend-A-Hand, Library Committee, Lunch Coordinators, S.P.E.A.K committee and many more. All parents are encouraged to complete this volunteer form to learn about the opportunities available and let the Parents Association know how you would like to get involved to help make Hamlin extraordinary! You can learn more by stopping by the PA table at the Pride of the Pack picnic on September 3rd.

I look forward to seeing you all at Hamlin soon.
