No, it’s not mandatory but it is highly encouraged and a great way to get to know the Hamlin Community and support our school. We understand that every family has different availability and appreciate any time given.

How much time does it take?

You can volunteer for as much or as little as works for you. There are plenty of activities to participate in! We encourage you to fill out the volunteer sign up form and we will contact you with some suggestions of positions that would best suit your interests and schedule.

Why should I volunteer?

It's a fun and easy way to support our school and our girls. The money raised by the PA goes to support faculty enrichment and tuition assistance, both directly impact our daughters.

Are there social benefits to volunteering?

You'll meet great Hamlin parents you may not otherwise know—parents with daughters in different grades or classes.
You can also volunteer with a friend! Many jobs are two-person jobs. It is a fun way to spend time with friends and help Hamlin.

How will this enrich my repertoire of skills?

You'll have the opportunity to learn – anything from QuickBooks to graphic design to event planning. There are many parents with lots of professional experience who can teach you things you are interested in. Who knows, it could be the start of a new career!

Hamlin probably has a lot of volunteers already. Do you really need me?

Yes! Hamlin needs more parent volunteers!
The PA at Hamlin is essential to the success of the school. Parents run the lunch program, library volunteers, school store, to name a few. The PA raises much needed funds for Hamlin as well.
