Music Academy

The Hamlin Music Academy is an offering of after school instrument lessons. Students may register for individual (or pair) 30-minute lessons in flute, guitar, piano, or violin. This year we are hoping to add cello, clarinet, and saxophone, as well as an instrument ensemble/orchestra.

Music Academy

  • Classes generally have 6 – 12 students
  • Lessons are offered after school every day at 3:30, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00 and 5:30
  • Music Academy offers the girls three opportunities to register over three trimester terms: fall, winter, and spring that run that run 10 – 15 weeks each
  • All individual Music Academy lessons are $40 per half-hour session, pair lessons are $50 per half-hour session
  • The following instruments will be taught during the fall trimester:
    Piano (Grace Wu): Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays
    Piano (Jared Redick): Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, Fridays
    Piano (Janis Mercer): Wednesdays, Thursdays
    Flute (Sarah Holzman): Thursdays
    Guitar (Paul Binkley): Mondays, Tuesdays
    Violin (Marguerite Ostro): Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

2008 FALL MUSIC ACADEMY REGISTRATION PROCEDURES and POLICIES

  • Returning students from the spring of 2008 have until Friday, August 22, to retain their spaces
  • After that time, students on the waitlist from last year will be contacted about available spaces
  • On Tuesday, August 26, a registration form will be available online that lists which lessons will be available for the fall trimester. (See link for registration form below)
  • To register for an available lesson, complete the registration form and return to Hamlin via fax (415-674-5409), email to fonarow@hamlin.org in pdf form, or deliver to one of the two reception desks
  • All registrations received before 10:00 am on Friday, August 29 receive equal priority
  • All registrations received after 10:00 am on Friday, August 29 are prioritized in the order they are received
  • Lessons will be confirmed during the week of September 2 – 5
  • Lessons begin the week of Monday, September 8
  • Lessons are finalized on Friday, September 19. At this time, all registrations are final and no refunds will be given
