Hamlin Alumnae Tour of Kimono Refashioned

Alumnae, Parents of Alumnae, and their significant others are invited to a Private Tour of Kimono Refashioned at the Asian Art Museum with special guest Earl Speas.

    Thursday, March 28
    6:00 p.m. Informal Reception
    7:00 p.m. Private Tour
$20/person (includes museum admission and tour)

Space is limited. Advance registration required by March 22 at

Event Chair: Rebecca (Saroyan) Robbins '82

About the Exhibition: In the early 1980s, Japanese avant-garde designers took Paris by storm, disrupting the world of haute couture with their minimalist, deconstructed clothing. But this was not the first time that Japanese design principles had transformed international fashion. Instead, as Kimono Refashioned reveals, kimono — its materials, forms, techniques and decorative motifs — has inspired designers for more than 150 years.

Note: The museum closes at 9:00 p.m. and you are free to enjoy the museum at your leisure before and after the tour.
