Alumni Book Club: Revisiting To Kill a Mockingbird

To KIll A Mockingbird is not the book you remember.

If you're like a lot of people, your memories of this novel are based on reading it in middle or high school. Maybe you think of the painful injustices perpetrated against Tom Robinson, or Scout and Jem's shattered innocence as they confront violent racism in their sleepy town. Or perhaps you picture Gregory Peck as Atticus in the film adaptation, decked out in a gleaming white suit, giving a passionate closing argument in a silent, sweltering courtroom. To Kill A Mockingbird has remained one of the most beloved American novels of all time, but reading it in 2020, it arguably presents problems. Alumni and Parents of Alumni are invited to join us in conversation at our
