Summer Thoughts

Dear Hamlin Community,

If you are reading this missive right now, it means that you are:
  1. super-organized in your planning for the 2012-13 school year
  2. super-excited about the upcoming 2012-13 school year
  3. super-curious about what’s going on at Hamlin during the summer
  4. super-hopeful that the “buzz” about a brand new Hamlin website is true
  5. all of the above
Many administrators, faculty, and staff have been busy at work this summer providing meaningful content, creative ideas, and valuable feedback as we redesign The Hamlin School website. Our primary goals are to make the website rich in relevant information, visually appealing, clear and logical in its organization, and easy to navigate. Visitors to the website and readers of upcoming publications will also notice the prominence of our updated Creed as well as our new architectural logo. We are proud of our “cyber-makeover” and our recommitment to effective communication with our key constituencies: employees, current parents, alumnae and their families, and prospective parents.

The website redesign project has benefited tremendously from the artistic flair and strong leadership of our new website manager Elizabeth Beck, and I know that she is looking forward to being a resource for all members of the Hamlin community as the new website launches. As with any new endeavor, we recognize that there may be items that we will need to fix or adjust, and we welcome your feedback and suggestions—and your compliments too! Thank you in advance for making certain that you are connected to Hamlin—don’t forget to log in, create a password (if you don’t already have one), update your profile, select the calendars you want to see, and read the August mailing thoroughly. The annual August mailing will come to you electronically during the week of August 20th, and it will be loaded with important information about the new school year.

Please give my love and a hug to my wonderful Hamlin girls; I can’t wait to see their happy faces and hear their summer stories when school reconvenes on Thursday, September 6th.

Warmly,

Wanda M. Holland Greene
Head of School
